Meeting needs

Meeting needs

Talking about “meeting needs” in the scriptures; Apostle ones prayed that God will meet people’s needs as written in Phil4:19. Quite a popular verse.

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 NKJV”.

In this present age, having a need or being in need is as a daily experience. We wake up with some, run into some, don’t know how we find ourselves in some etc. It has become a part of our lives that we can’t avoid but God, from the fall of man has always been in the business of meeting needs. He killed an animal to cover Adam and Eve, also indicating the Lamb that would come to meet the need of sin in the future; the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world.

But in our walk as believers, I know that there have been times I have had needs that were not met from my point of view (as a man), I had prayed and asked God for certain things to happen which never did. I know I share similar view with a handful of people, if not all of us. So what could have gone wrong? If our God is a specialist at meeting needs how come we have times when it seems He didn’t meet them? Could it be that we asked amiss? What is the “need” from God’s point of view?

John 5, opens with the story of the man at the pool of Bethesda, and Jesus came and asked him if he wanted to get well, his response sounds like what we normally tell God as our need. His repose tells us what he believes is his need; I have no man to help me get to the pool. But is getting “having a man” or “getting the pool”.etc his real need? The answer is a big “NO”. Just like ourselves we pray and ask God for (example) a job, why? So I can pay my rent…why? So I can have a place to stay etc. So you are praying and asking for a job…meanwhile God wants to bless you with a magnificent place of your own, so you don’t need to pay rent and therefore need no job to get the rent money! So why don’t we always ask God for the real need to be met? We are sometimes short sighted.

Another example can be, someone one comes and says we need X amount of money urgently, why? For an operation for our child, the doctor has recommended that we do it. There is nothing wrong with this but if our prayer point or what we ask God is the money for the procedure then we might be asking amiss. Why? If we trust that God will or can provide the money what can’t we trust him to heal the child? what is the real need here? The money or health? We sometimes think it’s impossible for God to heal but it’s easier for him to provide the money; we limit God.

So Paul writes to them that God will supply all their needs(meet them at that very point irrespective of what it is or can ever be) according to God’s riches in glory(unlimited Supernatural source and supply for all things), through Christ Jesus(the perfect example of Him who met every need). Praise God forever.

Want to have true impact as an entrepreneur? Master these six things

Welcome fellow aspiring entrepreneurs. True entrepreneurship involves a mindset of solving problems. But real success goes well beyond the bottom line to impacting lives and leaving a legacy. Many global challenges need innovative solutions that, no doubt, will be solved by entrepreneurs. This is how you can do it:

  1. Find your purpose or ‘why’: The best way to predict the future is to create it. Some people have no idea what to do with their lives. Lacking clarity can waste years of your life. People who change the world have a strong ‘why’ and their purpose is clear. If you don’t know your purpose, use this moment as an opportunity to start working on yourself.
  2. Revisit your purpose often: Any plan is worthless without execution. At times, you’ll feel out of alignment – that’s the human experience. Plans and reality often contradict each other. Frequently revisiting your purpose will keep you on track.
  3. Cultivate your signature strengths: Identify your signature strengths and talents so that you can use them every day to add value to others. Maybe you know your strengths based on previous feedback or the outcomes of your decisions. Think about what talents you used when experiencing the most success and fulfillment.
  4. Don’t work in isolation: An African proverb states: “If you want to go fast, go alone; If you want to go far, go together.” Cultivate an exponential mindset—where you view the world as full of possibility and hope. Don’t work in isolation. Instead, collaborate with other transformational leaders and build an exceptional team; they’ll teach you how to be a better leader. And you’ll build something much bigger than yourself and with a lasting legacy.
  5. Be part of the team, rather than above it: Great leaders look out for their team before themselves. Most importantly, let them know that you’ll always have their back, so they’re empowered to build a business with impact and legacy collectively.
  6. Lead a life of service: Go beyond your call of duty to solve grand global challenges. Even after wild success in business, Bill Gates has found a higher calling in eradicating pandemic diseases.

Remember: we live in the most extraordinary time in the history of humanity. Will you use that opportunity to take a stand and build a legacy that will help humanity flourish?

Happy New Year Family!

So thankful to God for keeping us alive to see another year. As a tradition/routine every New Year, most of us draw up a list of “New year resolutions” which most times we do not adhere to.

Its important every New Year to live a more Christ-centered life which makes it easy for every other life goals we set to fall in place. The bible urges us to examine our lives regularly, and there’s no better time to evaluate our relationship with God than the start of a new year.

Here are few tips on how to make and fulfill our New Year resolutions;

  • Expect great things and put your life in God’s hands. Have high hopes, great dreams, and major belief in God. See visions and believe in them. Believe that your life would get better and the best is yet to come. And your expectations would be fulfilled through Christ who strengthens you.
  • Don’t do it alone. Remember it’s not by your power nor might it’s only by the grace of God. Do not rely on your willpower rather seek Gods help.
  • Budget!Almost every piece of financial advice begins with budgeting. Create successful financial habits this year by planning what to do with every single Rand you earn.
  • Increase your income! There is nothing wrong with multiple streams of income. If you haven’t considered starting a business, there is no better time than now.
  • Live debt-free. Create an emergency fund, set up a retirement account or save money for long-term major purchases. You can also pay off credit card balances every month.

As hard as it seems, let stick to our resolutions. Most of us have the best intentions when making resolutions and then life takes over. We all face stumbling blocks every day. Our decision to resist making excuses and stick to our resolutions takes major self control and discipline.

Lets always remember that God shall make us the head and not the tail and we will be Above Only and never beneath!

You are Above Only

You are Above Only

Welcome to your year of above only! This is God’s word concerning you this year. God defines you as He sees you not as you have been or you are.

Did your relationship fail last year? Did you expect a promotion at work and it didn’t come? Did your business suffer loss? Did you make a mistake or bad decision that you wish you didn’t? Did you fail a subject at school? Did you hope for a job and it didn’t come? Did you hope to be married and it didn’t happen? Don’t let the devil whisper to you: “another year is gone and you failed”. You are not a failure, it was just a detour. God is working it out for your good – benefit, advantage, profit, gain, interest, pleasure, comfort, we/I-being, ease, convenience, welfare, enjoyment, satisfaction.

Rom. 8:28:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

Whatever disappointments and failures you saw in 2016, you will see no more in 2017 in Jesus name! However, you have to dust yourself up and refuse to stay down. Prepare for the fulfillment of God’s word in your life; get excited!  Dare to dream again! Start over again! Dig a new well! Launch that net again for a catch!

Luke 5:5

But Simon answered and said to him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at your word I will let down the net”

Hold God by His word and speak by faith. Refuse any presentation of beneath; you don’t belong there.

You are ABOVE ONLY!!!

Entrepreneurship versus Freelancing

Entrepreneurship versus Freelancing

Happy New Year! We will be focusing on entrepreneurship for the first half of this year. Are you an aspiring entrepreneur? Do you need to learn how to implement your ideas, build businesses and impact your community positively? If yes, you are welcome here.

Freelancers get paid for their work. If you’re a freelance copywriter, you get paid when you work. Entrepreneurs, on the other hand, use other people’s money to build a business bigger than them so that they can get paid even when they’re asleep. Many Freelancers will grumble at this definition but they can truly become entrepreneurs if they have an “entrepreneurial mindset.

Freelancing is an essential step in the entrepreneur’s journey. You have to learn how to find clients, talk to them and get them to pay you. You have to learn how to develop skills and ideas and test them in the marketplace. Freelancing is great, because for all intents and purposes, you can get started immediately. The truth is that almost anything can make money but first, you have to change your mindset.

You must start viewing your skills and experiences as bankable, valuable resources worth paying for. You – yes you, can help someone with skills and knowledge that you already have. The easiest way to do this is by freelancing. Freelancing can change    your    l life    (and I recommend anyone looking to leave the nine to five job, first find work for themselves as a freelancer on the side), but freelancing is only halfway there. It’s a necessary bridge to get you away from your day job and into independent living. On the other side of that bridge is full-fledged entrepreneurship.

The difference between entrepreneurship and freelancing comes down to TIME. Freelancers exchange time for money (although much more money than a traditional job). Entrepreneurs depend on systems, automation and eventually, employees that work without their direct involvement. The key question is: “If I take myself out of the equation, does the business still work? If the answer is yes, you are an entrepreneur. If you can create enough momentum i n your business that you’ll still make money, regardless of what you do on a day-to day basis, you are an entrepreneur. This is where you want to end up.

Until we meet again in our next edition, think of how to become a freelancer by the side and build systems to become an Entrepreneur.

Hello and Happy New Year – We made it by the grace of God. Kindly allow me say ‘thank you’ to all our wonderful readers and may the Lord make you ABOVE ONLY. Also take advantage of our website and read more articles on our Vibrant Youth Page

In the last edition, our discussion was on Moses and his family. He was called to a family meeting by his brother, Aaron and sister, Miriam in numbers 12:1-5. Accusation about his wife soon changed to who God talks to and God came down to settle the issue in person. Probably, some of us had family meetings as well over the festive period and ‘your case’ was mentioned – how you love the “church” too much that you even give so much money in that direction; you not marrying that unbelieving guy and age is ticking on your side (according to man); or your decision to follow Jesus and abandon some family traditions etc. We need to learn how Moses handled the matter and how God dealt with it.

What didn’t Moses do?

Moses was fantastic in human relations but he neither tried to use kind and nice words to settle the issue nor did he plead with them to be nice to him, as their brother, because that was a ‘family’ issue. But we see believers fight for family members even if they are in the wrong; mothers stand up to support the wrong doing of their children; husbands defend wives and vice versa even against God’s ordinances. It shouldn’t be so Saints! Jesus says family is anyone who does the Will of the Father. That’s how to identify your stand with regards to the body of Christ not biological or relational view.

He didn’t ask for time so he can make amends as they were more in number against him therefore they should be right. Sometimes, we judge by popularity or numeric value. That many people are saying it doesn’t certify it. Ministry requires that sometimes we stand alone. Apostle Paul was so many times in this position. He wouldn’t budge even amongst the leadership of the early church, in the face of death etc. Don’t be convinced to do wrong because it’s popular.

He didn’t appease them as his seniors – they were both older than  him.  This  is  a  good  manipulative  tool  to  bend opinions/views,  even  if  it’s  not  right.  Apostle  Paul  told Timothy  not  to  let  anyone  despise  him  because  he  was younger but advised him to stand approved before God and rightfully divide the word of truth; for God has not given him the spirit of fear.

So what exactly did Moses do?

Maybe if they had stopped at querying Moses marriage to an Ethiopian woman he would have defended that. But when they immediately brought God into the equation, Numbers 12:2 tells us”…..and the LORD heard it” and Moses did exactly ‘nothing’! If you find yourself in such scenario, learn to back offand allow God resolve it His ownway. Sometimes you may look like a fool to do that…but God always wins.

We will study how God deals with issues as this in our next blog. We love you!
